Teachers' and Principals' hauora - health and wellbeing survey
Principals need time to lead and teachers need time to teach, but the massive workload and pressure in our schools is taking a toll on their personal health.
Since 2016, NZEI Te Riu Roa has commissioned comprehensive and quantitative research into principals' hauora, health and wellbeing.
In 2019 and for the following two years, we’re including school teachers in primary, intermediate, kura, area and special schools.
Teachers and principals should receive an email with a link to the survey by Friday 18 October. If you have not received an email, please ring 0800 693 443 for a link to the survey.
By filling out the online survey, you’ll help to compile valuable data about the actual state of wellbeing in the profession. This will provide vital evidence as we work with the government on the Accord that was agreed as part of your collective agreement settlements.
The survey will also give you personal and private feedback, and information about any steps you need to take to improve your wellbeing.
It will take about one hour to complete the survey, and you can stop at any time to complete it later.
There are separate surveys for principals and teachers, although APs and DPs who have completed previous principal surveys should continue to do the principal version.
The deadline survey has been extended to Sunday, 1 December. Make sure that if you have started your survey, you go back and complete it before this date.
