Te Ao Kei Tua | Creating Our Future

Our vision and goal are that principals’ wellbeing and professional growth is well supported, and that there will be sufficient resourcing available to address the work demands placed on principals across the entire motu. This is the new future we want to create.

Your Hauora

Big work weeks, demanding expectations and a lack of proper support networks. These are just a few of the issues that came to the fore in the Principals' Hauora Survey last year. As the challenging nature of leading a school changes, so too should the support, expectations and compensation for these roles.

Your Campaign

We need to persuade the government that it is now urgent they invest more in education to ensure we have access to better staffing and resourcing for support in our schools and kura.  We plan to do this by demonstrating the issues and potential solutions, through sharing our stories and engaging directly with MPs.

Your negotiation team

NZEI Te Riu Roa is your union. That means that your voice needs to be present at the negotiating table. Watch the video to meet the principals, your peers from around the motu, who will be representing your claims in 2022.
