What does the issue of sick leave mean for you as a teacher, and the tamariki you teach?

I have never before used my allocation but have had to this year with such a bad year and covid. It’s at work we contract the illness. Now what do I do….come to work sick because I cannot afford to stay home without pay?

What will it take to fix sick leave for kindergarten teachers?

At the very least let head teachers use their discretion and have a higher rate of sick leave. If you contract illness from kindergarten then disregarded leave should mean the same as it does for others in the education sector.
