Lowering ratios would enable kaiako to work on a deeper and more sustained level with tamariki, rather than surface and fleeting opportunities because your attention is divided between multiple, and often urgent, needs.

Intentional teaching can be sustained, strategies can be better implemented and the goals and aspirations for tamariki can be better meet. This would positively impact on the emotional well being of all to be learning and teaching in an environment that is calm and considered, where time and being present are valued as factors towards quality education.
