As a head teacher I am paid $55 more than my teacher colleagues. The responsibilities I carry as a head teacher are massive. My colleagues work load is huge too and as the leader of our team I support their wellbeing alongside tamariki and their whānau with very little time. My salary does not match the mahi!

My work load impacts on my home-life. Increasing salary will support my ability to make home-life a bit easier. As an older head teacher I awhi new kaiako and the salary increase makes the role of a head teacher more inviting for emerging leaders.
